Inpatient facilities

We have the capacity to accommodate overnight studies for up to 10 participants. The overnight area can be staffed by qualified registered nurses on a 24-hour basis and provide:
- Full bedside monitoring equipment for the investigator
- A full emergency resuscitation service provided by Central Manchester University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
- Two side rooms that can be programmed to be either +/- pressure isolation rooms and are sufficiently large enough to accomodate studies where a parent could stay with a child
- Full catering facilities to provide hot and cold meals throughout the participants' stay
- Sky television
We also have a state-of-the-art children's facility within the new Royal Manchester Children's Hospital, including inpatient facilities. For more information please visit the Wellcome Trust Children's Clinical Research Facility's website at www.childrenscrf.org.
Outpatient and paediatric facilities
Eight outpatient rooms are available to investigators. One room is a highly-specified environmentally controlled outpatient room offering investigators the facility to control both the temperature (within 0.5 degrees) and humidity of the room. Photographic lighting and blackout blinds are also present.
All rooms are equipped to a high standard and can be organised to suit investigator and study requirements.
